Purchasing an ordeal

Updating this review a third time: The Dell people did call back and sent me a quotation, though late in the evening. So, whatever you find below is my first impression.


Please note first of all that this is not a review of the 6400 but of the service, as the agents at Dell are loaded with too many requests. Forget a review of the product, the purchasing process is itself such a sucker because of the irresponsive customer support agents that I have decided against it. I called several times but could not place an order, just because they simply were not ready to take it - is this how Dell does business - refuse customers!?.


Seems the staff have a lot of beter things to do than take an order, seems they don’t even want to sell! They either transfer calls to non-existent agents (you are greeted by his personal answering service or something) or the already busy agents that put you on indefinite hold or promise to call back but never do. Ridiculously poor Service.


This also shows how poor support they will provide post-purchase....yuck who wants to even buy Dell...Dell go to hell. People, go ahead and buy only if you can put up with their polite indifference long enough, coz Dell stuff is otherwise good and the 6400 is a great model. But newer models like 1420/1520/1720 are more feature rich. Do check them out first.
