I had purchased it directly from Dell website in 2010. It has been about 6-7 yrs since then but now my lappy is dead but working.( I m an engineer by the way: D)
It worked perfectly well for about 1 n half year but yes there was a problem since beginning that sometimes while playing videos lappy used to get hang and started to show the blue screen which is a sign of minor damage in hard disk.
And yes they promised me a one year mcafee antivirus free with it but they gave a one month trial only but yeah microsoft security essentials used to work quite well those days. So no issues with that too.
After 1 n half year around the problems started.like the battery backup which was earlier upto 2 n half hrs suddenly after updating my bios through a link from Dell, came down to 15 minutes. But well I still kept using it and had to change it after a few months .
The hang problem like I told earlier kept on increasing. I could not move my lappy or the screen even a single inch as this movement caused the blue screen appearence which used to show the dialogue box saying physical damage. Well that is yet not solved.
Then the problem started with the keypad the* key, the ’x’ key, the ’f4’ key and some more keys ended their life and I made some engineering on that too removed the keypad and remove the lamination under it simultaneously and cleaned it and some keys started working but finally I had to change the keypad but as I am used to make most of my purchase online and so I did but there was no original keypad available on any website and the one that I ordered is really horrible.
In the next step to my laptop’s death the Speaker’s started to cry one day and I started to use headphone from that day onwards.: p
Then my laptop stopped to boot but the solution was found very early it was just bcoz of some waste in the fan.
But then after a few months in the next step my charger which was working nicely from last 6 years said gudbye with a big BOOM and they are charging 1750 for a new charger.
I believe there is no point in purchasing it rather I must buy a new laptop.
