I purchased Dell Latitude D 630 in July 2007 and even in Feb-08 , i.e. after 7 months started finding that its battery is not getting charged . When contacted Dell on helpline , they delivered a refurbished battery on March-08, which again lasted for not more than 10-11 months although the Warranty on battery is 12 months.This is like cheating their customers.
Beware if are thinking of buying Dell laptop because of their poor battery life. Moreover they dont have any show room from where you can buy their accessories.For everything you have to depend on their helpline no. or online chatting. The minimum time to lodge your complaint online is 20-30 minutes as they would try to rectify the hardware problems online .The warranty of even a car battry is 3 years now so with most modern technology the battery life of laptop should be better.
