After long thought and deliberations I’m writing this review..!!
Basically I’m a traveling salesman and half the month I spend on Roads..
This is the first Laptop I got from the company for my exclusive usage.. ( earlier we used to share the laptops whenever presentationsto be done !)
I’m Using Dell Latitude D600 for last two years and I shouldsay I’m quite happy with this one..!! My parents and friends keep saying that I can’t handle delicateobjects..( as a kid I’m famous for breaking things ) … so as a very rough user(rough handling) and light user ( I spend about 2, 3 hours a day with my Laptop)… I found this a very goodproduct one can have… I use it mainly for PowerPoint presentations, Words, Excel, and net browsing.. And I storequite a lot of data in it..
When I got it, it had Windows XP, Lotus notes, Mcafee AV, and office suite programs loaded. I visit whole kind of websites (many of themtry to install kind of programs in it!).. But I should say it has not crashed so far… Now I’ve loaded it withplenty of Programs like Google earth and still it is rock steady and goingstrong..!!! The speed is still very good and battery back up is excellent (about 130 mins … initially it used to give about 180 mins backup..)
I’ve never called the service centre so I can’t tell youabout service aspect of Dell..
My colleague has IBM Think pad which is bought about 15months back. It takes lot of time to boot compared to my Dell laptop.. And IBMis very slow in terms of launching a new application…
Over all I’ll recommend this one for rough handlersand light users…!!!
