I ordered 3 of these Vostros for my company and only one would take a charge, so 2 had to be sent back immediately. Admittedly, this has soured me a bit towards the Dell Vostro. I must say, however, that Dell Customer Service from the sales team was top-notch and I had replacements in my hands on the next business day.
Functionality-wise for the one Vostro we kept, its fine per Windows 7, but no number pad is a drawback for the keyboard, and the keyboard itself is very flimsy and easily bent and made metallic clicking noises with even light tapping of the keys. The housing consists of that cheap, shiny plastic that becomes covered with fingerprints just minutes after first use.
We received 2 Dell latitudes as a replacement for the defective Vostros we sent back, and these were a MUCH better value and more sturdily built(plus there was no shiny plastic covered with fingerprints).
