An MNC like Dell has resorted to cheap tactics of misleading with bogus offers along with laptop. Their offers for the Laptops(even on ths day) include JBL BT headphone worth Rs. 7999 @ Rs. 99. When I purchased the offer was for Sennheiser Headset worth 8990 @ Rs. 99.
It is with a condition that we have to register the product along with the Laptop invoice within 7 days of order confirmation, though they send the invoice at their own leisure. I did this process too and got a Ticket number, without any instruction as to what is to be done next. Calling up the Dell Support was of no use since they just inform that it does not come under their purview and they just push the ball. After regular follow up with different teams, when I was finally able to reach the Dell Offers team, they informed that it is too late since they had sent the payment link with validity of 48 hours. This is a pure lie, If I could receive their ticket number, there is no reason for non receipt of the payment link onmy email. There was no email even in the spam folder. The fact is that they never bother to respond unless you call up, and they start building up stories.
On further insistance with the person on phone, he agreed to renew the link. But this payment link was for a cheap earphone worth Rs. 1024 on Amazon and I had to pay Rs. 799.
I still paid assuming something is better than nothing. But here too, they did not respond for nearly 20 days after the payment. When I again called up, the same person told me that they will order the material in 1-2 days and I can expect the material in 14-21 days. He also refused to inform his office address citing that it is secret and out of policy.
They could have simply collected Rs. 99 along with the payment for the laptop and supplied the offered material. Instead, they deliberately make the process so complicated that the person who fell for the trap of the offer loses interest in the offer and gives up on the excitement of having got an exciting offer with the laptop.
This is very cheap of a so called prestigious company like Dell. They could have offered the laptop even without the offer.
