Aag revisited, almost.

RGV is the man to be avoided. Unfollowing him on Twitter, if that could be any revenge for the head ache his camera angles have induced. Dutt and Bachchan are on a holiday while Rana tries too much to make a mark. The side-kicks are worse. The music just ain’t there. The story cannot be followed as the camera angles are nauseating enough to make you avoid using any part of your brain. Stupid climax. The only good thing one can learn is that if you have the will to make a perfectly disastrous film, even the stalwarts of the game will sleepwalk for you. Kudos to Ramu for getting it done by Dutt and Bachchan.

You won’t easily find a more liberal movie goer than me! Pre-conceptions are far away, when I have chosen to watch films in theaters that people haven’t even heard of! Department was one such attempt! If Stanley Ka Dabba and Vicky Donor or even Shagird can be good (all watched in halls), then I had my expectations with this heavy star cast film as well! What sin there?

I was enjoying the camera angles up till a time, but it went on to the extent of testing my patience! There I take out my cellphone, start SMSing friends about the film, update my FB, check the IPL scores and intermittently look out for a solid turn. Didn’t get any except for the even more irritating wasteful scenes consisting of the silly sidekicks. The casting is kiddish, so it the art work!

I gave it the chances. Only Rana came up floating alive, rest came up as corpses perhaps!

A film of this magnitude, in terms of quality and caliber does not deserve a longer review.

1.5 stars.
