Fascination for All that is Repelling, Anyone?

The worst movie contest is a dream come true for me to vent out my anger and frustration of losing more than three precious hours on Deshdrohi(scripted, produced, and directed by Kamaal Rashid Khan, who also plays the lead actor or non-actor in the film), looking for one good dialogue, one good costume, one good song, one good scene, and just one second of glory for the movie.

The timing of the movie was perfect. The issue of increasing number of Biharis and North Indians in Maharashtra was heated up. Raj Thackeray had set the perfect stage for the movie and it was a great script idea. But that’s sums up all that was good for the movie.

A plotline obsessed with worst C-grade movies of 60s and 70s, even worse songs, heroines dressed like ones from the age of our grandmother, and a dialogue delivery that is worse than poem recitation of my two and a half year old, the movie is undountedly the worst Bollywood flick ever made.

I am a hard-core optimist and always try to see the good side of everyone and everything I come across. I do realize the efforts and the hard work it takes to produce a movie, or for that matter any work of art. True to my basic nature, I watched through the entire movie at one go to look for one - just one - redeeming factor of the movie. Sorry folks, no luck here.

So, if you have a fascination(unhealthy, of course) for all that is repelling and hateful and disgusting, Deshdrohi is a tailormade movie for you.
