After hearing his first solo album I was dying to get my hands on his album coz if previous records are anything to go by this album would be worth the wait. And the album does not disappoint. The album might surprise you at first but slowly you fall for it and though the album is of decent length it always feels as if it has ended too quickly. Unlike his previous album, Ronan mainly offers upbeat numbers with few melodies just the opposite of his solo debut. So heres what he has to offer.
The album starts with I love it when you do, A typical upbeat peppy song which keeps your feet moving. Most of the song in this album are of this kind. Typical fun songs. Anywhere you go also falls into the same category.
If Tomorrow never comes is a beautifully written wonderfully sung song. This song falls into typical Ronan category. One of the best songs of the album.
Come be my baby, Typical tongue sticker. You cant help yourself humming this song. This also falls into the uni-pace category. Lovin Each Day was released as a single well before the album. It is typical upbeat Ronan love song. I like this song coz it is a bit different from others. My one thing thats real stands out because of Ronans powerful voice. The would have been better if the pace would have been little slow.
Side B starts with Time for love. This is one of my favorite, a little slow but not too much. Wonderfully sung with good https://lyrics.
Blown Away the uni-pace is back to blow you away. it is surprising how little music Ronan uses even in his fast pace songs. You wont find a stretch of pure music in his songs in this album. He sings non-stop throughout the entire length, more or less, of the song. It is not only this song but most of the other peppy numbers in the album. The music really acts as a support. The same applies for as much as I can give you girl. He certainly believes in taking centre-stage. But whos complaining.
Pickin me up, one of my favorites, it goes likeget up, get on , youre gonna fight through. I love this song it never fails to pick up my mood. It is followed by Joy & Pain, a slow song for a change but nothing much to write about.
What follows is the best song of the album and the best love song of the year. Weve Got tonight is an excellent song. With only piano to support them Ronan & LuLu sing one of the best love song I’ve heard of late. A must hear. if that wasnt enough Ronan delivers another knockout in This is a Long Goodbye, this comes a close second. Here also Ronan delivers a wonderfully written song with minimal music. He sure knows how to say good bye but I only hope that this goodbye is not for long.
After hearing the last two songs one certainly wishes the album had few more of the slow melodies of which the Ronan is master. But as they say Good things come in small packages. His first album was primarily slow melody, boyzone style, but I think now hes looking for an image change. Thats why a mainly fast paced album. Though I think his last album was better but this one is surely worth an ear and the price
Njoy
P.S. Means a MH or Must Hear song. They are one of the main factors in rating an album.
