The thing about Destinys Child is: there is really no anticipation of a new album, because there is never a gap between hits. Its rather pointless. They pump out the hits like its not even funny. It went from Say My Name, to Jumpin Jumpin out at the same exact time, to Independent Women Part I, right on into Survivor. There never was any gap! But thats just the Destinys Child way...they cant help it!
Favorite Songs
Survivor
A great uptempo with hot violins. I love the beat and the vocals, the lyrics, the meaning, everything. It is like, the perfect hip hop pop song. What could be better?
Bootylicious
I know, nice title, eh? I love the hilarious lyrics that tell all about how basically you cant handle this body. It is a great song, with an amazingly dance-able beat. I like the humorous, yet sassy and real-ness of the https://lyrics. You just have to hear it to know.
Nasty Girl
This may seem like an odd twist of Janet Jacksons previous hit, Nasty Boy, but it certainly is not. It basically describes all of the nasty girls out there who dont wear enough clothes and throw themselves at any guy. Oh, and trust me, many women apply to this song! Nasty girl put some clothes on I told ya. P.S. They sample Salt N Peppas Push It on this track! It is very awesome!
Independent Women Part II
This is a great sequel to the overplayed Independent Women Part I. It has many of the same lyrics, very few that are different and new. It has a great, faster beat with slow vocals. I love the same woman power meaning behind the https://lyrics. Great, and so much better than the first!
Story Of Beauty
This is a very pretty, slower song that still has an uptempo beat. I absolutely love the way they harmonize here. It has a very nice and beautiful meaning that withstands anything else.
Sexy Daddy
This is one of those get up, dance, and party songs (maybe because Beyonce yells get up and dance!). It has unique lyrics that I enjoy very much. Im particularly happy that it isnt called Do You Wanna Dance like many of the tracks youll find on other albums today, that seem to all sound the same and have the same https://lyrics.
Emotion
A very pretty ballad that has umph and rhythm. Many times slower songs have a lack of umph, which leaves me very uninterested. But this track happened to obtain umph but be very beautifully slow at the same time. Without a doubt, these girls can, as Howie Dorough says, saang.
Not-So-Favorites
I didnt like Fancy due to boring and light vocals, Apple A La Mode due to lack of any umph whatsoever, Happy Face due to too much happy-go-lucky-ness for a D. Child song, Dangerously In Love due to soft lyrics and a soft tone (BORING, leaves much to be desired), Brown Eyes just because I wasnt interested at all (I dont like many of Destinys Childs ballads), and Gospel Medley because Im not religious and I dont see such a track necessary.
Wait, Wait...Cindy--why 4 stars then?
You may be curious as to why I gave this album four stars when I obviously disliked a lot of the tracks. Well, to put it simply, the songs that I chose as favorites, were good, and very good.
In Conclusion
I would recommend this album to any member of the under 40 crowd. But mostly those of us in our 20s and teens. Anyone can listen to it with their parents without the rents being irritated by it.
Predictions
I think that Bootylicious, the next track, will be a HUGE hit. I hope that they release Nasty Girl, because I believe it could be their biggest hit mainly because of the unbelievably true and funny lyrics, and in part the dance-able beat. The album hit number one, which wasnt very surprising. I believe it will stay in number one for quite a while. At least until Nsyncs album, Celebrity, is released.
