The Tunga group of hotels has 4 branches in Mumbai / Navi Mumbai, three of them are in Andheri MIDC area, Tunga International, Tunga Paradise, Tunga Regal all are within 1 km of each other, Tunga International and Tunga Paradsie have the same offerings, Tunga Regal specializes in Authentic Thai and Tao food. They have another branch in Vashi. I have visited all the branches in Andheri and hence my review is more focused on the andheri branches, Tunga Paradise to be more precise.
Tunga Paradise have buffets everyday, in addition to this they also have A La Carte, The buffet offers the best value for money that a three star can give you.
The buffet comprises of a welcome drink, a soup of your choice, beer, cold cuts, salads, Indian chat counter, Prawns, chicken kabab starters, fish dishes, mutton, paneer, rice, noodles, roti, 2 vegeterian dishes, Ice cream and some sweet dishes, In short they offer Indian, Chinese and Continental. The best part of it is that they include prawns which not even Sahara star and orchid have in their costly buffets. The entire Cost per person for the buffet is Rs 325+ taxes.
Earlier they offered crabs in their buffet as well but have dis contiuned it, Sundays offer the best menu for buffets. During the year they also have various food festivals like Malwani food festival, rajisthani etc.
For Xmas and Easter, they serve wine and Turkey, this buffet cost Rs 400, they also give you easter eggs. They alter their dressing as per the ocassion.
The A La Carte menu is exhaustive, covering a wide selection of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian and Continental Dishes. Price of food is good when compared to other hotels.
If you are celebrating your birthday they would give you a complimentary cake and card, they would also send you a discount voucher. Drinks are a bit pricey here, but they have a good range of offerings.
On wednesdays they have a karoke night, Monday they have candle night dinners, They also have a DJ room, they also have halls to celebrate birthdays and other functions.
If you drop your business card they send you a complimentary buffet voucher for two. The ambience is quite good, service is excellent, since I go there atleast twice in a month and celebrate all functions at Tunga everyone knows me by name. Once they gave us their car to drop us at home during a transport strike.
In short if you are looking for a good dining experience you should go to Tunga. Tunga International is similar to Tunga Paradise but I feel paradise staff is more hospitable, Tunga regal have good staff but limited menu offerings only thai and tao.
