With the onset of summer in eastern India and availability of "Cool" soaps in the market. I purchased Dettol Cool Soap.
Like most of us born in middle-class Indian society we have grown up believing and knowing that "DETTOL" = clean , antisceptic & safe.Used Dettol soap on numerous occasions knowingly, unknowingly. Frankly speaking Dettol always meant quality for me, like most of us I presume.
I also recalled the television ads of the product where everyone using this soap looked very refreshed and happy using this soap...thus decided to take the plunge.......This soap just turned out to be an outcast !! It smelt awful [ forget the traditional DETTOL smell ] , did not foam easily [ I was using soft-water] , never felt cool and I kept cursing myself and the shopkeeper for buying this soap. I resolved that I will never ever buy this soap and threw it in the dust-bin. That’s it...nothing more...nothing less....
