The word Dettol conjures up images of a sterile, antiseptic environment. Any reminder of hospitals is not the greatest marketing association for a product! Having said that, it is good to use, if it does kill bacteria and germs, as claimed. I store a bottle of liquid dettol soap for a thorough hand wash, esp. if I have been mucking around. But for a bath, no way! A pleasing aroma is a must for a bath soap (atleast in my book) and dettol falls way short of this criterion. As for dry skin, the best soap is Dove, It does leave the skin feeling creamy and smooth.
For those of us with children at home, storing dettol in various forms does help. But for a bath, unless one wants a sterile smelling cleanliness, avoid!
