I had applied for a Deutsche Bank credit card in the month of March 07 at Chennai. I came to this situation when I happened to answer positively to a routine call from the Bankers. Of course my application was processed smoothly and I was given a gold card in 2 weeks time as promised.
Exactly after a month, I shifted to a new house, which my family purchased. I called up the customer Care and informed them about my new residence status. My case was taken up immediately and informed that the new address will take place in 2 working days. Mind you, I have not received any statement other then the new card and welcome kit. At that moment I had even made a purchase on the card to inaugurate. I waited for a month with patience for the new statement with the purchase being reflected, so that I can make the payment.
Also I forgot tell you all that I was given a Gold Master Card. It is very difficult to make payments to Gold Card. There is no option like "visa to visa" transfer in Master Card. So we need to take a walk up to a branch or an ATM to drop the cheque.
Now coming back to the statement which I was still waiting, sensing trouble I immediately dropped a cheque for the spend amount. Infact I never received any statements for the next 2 months. I had to dial to the Customer Care and enquire for the statements which were not sent. The executive on the other side claimed that the bank had indeed sent the statements and he read out my residence details correctly! He had even claimed that the same statement was sent to my mail id, which was spelt out by him correctly! I couldn’t understand this natak. Whom should I blame now, the courier people or yahoo mail service?
The most surprising thing is that, I have not received even one statement from Duetsche through courier or email since March 07. I dont live in any unknown jungles but right in the heart of Chennai city where I have been getting statements from other services for years together. I simply stashed away the card in the closet. I will use the card only when I receive a statement begging me to use the card again :).
