Dev D is a Classic Case of a Classic, classically reinvented, revisited and re-enginereed!
This is not your typically paying tribute to the original kinda film, it infact challenges all the clinches of the original and gives us the audience a look at the story in a way that is not only entertaining, but refreshingly fresh, bold and realistic... Elegance and Charm of the oldie, gives way to Rustic and Edgyness in this one...
Not divulgeing into the plot! everyone knows what it is, Just keeping this review short and just to what I feel about the movie.Abhay deol is super as DEV, who is nothing but basically a creep, who you feel sorry for, but somehow also feel he deserves it!
Paro played by Mahi gill... is a performance to watch out for in the film, she is electrifying in the first half! the scenes of her with her dad and later on with Dev are awesome... Lenny who plays Chandramukhi is SWEET! and very charming... her characters grows on you during the film! The soundtrack is BRILLANT and suits the film, the rock version of "Emotional Atyachar is mind blowing to say the least...
Kudos to Anurag Kayshap! for the biggest USP of the flick is its treatment and its dailogues... , Check out the dailogues of Paro with Dev and also Lenny with her parents and Dev... anurag right from his first flick Black Friday has impressed, but has never found recongination, I hope that with Dev D he gets the much deserved pat on the back!!
This is an out and out adult movie.... for its content and also the abusive dailogues, drug use etc... so keep children off... and be a little wary of going for this movie with parents also... Watch it... But Ek WARNING hain - This is not everyones Cup of tea.... oh I mean soorry (ahem...) this is not everyones glass of vodka!! hic
