I brought a Wagon R from Topsia during March 31, 2014 and was told it was the last day for booking in order to get a gold coin. I had planned to buy a car so the same time paid a deposit of INR 50, 000 through credit card the same day.
To be honest, the services were satisfactory(except for minor hiccups) which I, being from the service industry would tend to overlook as certain things can be beyond their control. No doubt the staff were very helpful and everything was fine.
Now comes the part that really spoils everything. We had followed up for the gold coin at times and every time were told it will take some time. After about 4 months or so when we approached them, they asked for a copy of the insurance, which was never mentioned to us in any of the conversations. Finally they responded by saying "it is applicable only if insurance is done by the 31st March". Wow, you mention in writing the gold coin, signed, on your document dated March 31 then you say insurance should have been done the same day - what a strange logic especially when insurance is your responsibility.
I called the sales manager, started saying all over again about insurance etc. I asked him specifically that will he dishonor what he has given in writing, the answer was a cool yes followed by it is not your fault - well I know that, but it really does not help. He promised something in exchange, with the typical lets "see what I can do as a replacement", and has not yet found the time for that or to even call. I have not mentioned names as it is not an individuals fault.
I have exchanged several mails and I know eventually all this is useless, I may not be very rich but can surely do without without a 1 gm gold coin. I feel they have been sly and taken me for a ride - here is where I am pissed off. It really does not bother them but I will take it as far as possible, even it may yield nothing or no one could be bothered.
My review is as just as I could be, hence I have written the positive experience as well.
