People go to Shimla and Manali for enjoying the cool weather, no doubt both these hill stations have catered very well to the tourists, but if you want to go to a clean hill station, which is not crowded, clean air, then Dharamshala is the place to be. Dharamshala is around 500 Km from Delhi, and you have good state bus service from Delhi. It takes around 12-14 hrs in bus and around 9-10 hrs in your own car. On the way to Dharamshala you can go to some famous temples, Chintpurni Mata temple, Jwala ji mata temple, Brajeshwari Mata Temple(Kangra) and Chamunda devi temple. For accomodation you have various hotels at Dharmashala and you get them at very decent prices. You can also stay at Govt rest houses. From Dharmashala , MCleod Ganj is around 10 kms. Mc leod ganj is the place where Dalai Lama stays. In winters Mcleod ganj gets good snow fall. You get good food at reasonable price. Local people are very helpful. This trip is recommended for those who want to stay in cool and calm atmosphere.
