Hi Hat-trick winner (Thulluvadho ellamai, Kadhal Kondaen, Thiruda Thirudi) and a Hat-trick loser (Pudhukottaillurinthu Saravanan, Sullan, Dreams) Dhanush-Kollywood’s Bruce Lee has found his Dhevadhai both in life as well as in his film.
Dhevadhaiyai Kandaen has a new story line directed by Bhupathi Pandian, said his story in a youth supporting way. This film has many positive things like new story line, comedy, Ghana songs etc which keeps the audience entertaining.
The film starts this way with Dhanush introducing himself in a temple as an inferior personality followed by a Ghana song (once upon a time....).
Next is the Heroine Uma?s introduction (Sri Devi) who directly meets Dhanush with the help of an umbrella. Uma gets a fair impression about Dhanush as a college student but soon he reveals his identity as a tea seller.
Now it is time for comedy to join the film with Karunas as Auto driver and Dhanush’s best friend. Dhanush, Karunas, Sathyan and one more comedian tries to love Sri Devi (uma) which is shown as comedy song (Mama Paiya....).
Finally Dhanush wins her love by doing fights etc and a song comes here to show his depth in love (Azhage Bhramannidam....). Now Kunal (second hero) who is a doctor and takes care of uma when she suffers from viral fever and also fall in love with her.
Our hero, Rajini’s son-in-law Dhanush goes to malai (not immaya malai, sabari malai)for Uma?s recovery. Now there is a twist in the film, uma is in a dilemma whether to satisfy her parents wish or to marry Dhanush. She compares the future with both Kunal and Dhanush.
Finally luxurious life with Kunal wins and an engagement for marriage happens. Our hero comes from sabari malai tries to convince Uma yet it ends useless. Dhanush files a case against Uma for betraying him. Nassar (guest role) argues for Dhanush and makes Uma understand, the sincere love of Dhanush for her.
Finally Uma express her love to Dhanush but, once again an expected twist in the story with a punch dialogue saying GOOD BYE to Uma and to us.
Dhevadhaiyai Kandaen has a new story line with Ghana songs and cheesy dialogues. It is a three hour entertaining movie and it is worth to watch as an ordinary entertaining movie with no class in it.
