DHFL will fool you and wont give you much time to read the documents before signing. Because you need money for your dream home and you cannot wait as someone else might get the deal. you are in hurry. but please read all the documents carefully because these people are bunch of tricksters who will show you Taj Mahal in a dream and later you will find yourself wrapped up in a jute bag near slums.
To be honest I accept it was our own mistake to go with DHFL, just because they promised to clear the loan quickly. which they did. but later a 10.5 rate of interest was increased to 18% within a year. every month we received a letter stating that rate of interest has been increased on your loan account.
We begged in front National Housing Finance and wrote many letters to finance ministry and PM himself. but there was no action taken.
When we wrote letter to DHFL stating that we cannot pay this interest as it is too high. they threatened us that they will takeover house under SARFAESI Act.
After running around for more that 4 years and spending each penny of lifetime saving. we had to sell our dream home. although we found a good deal so that we could just add 2 lsettle the entire loan amount plus 10% closure charges.
