Dhobi ghat.....well this was a different story, it was a film that did not really have much of a story to it. it runs for just over 1 hr 30 mins. there wasnt really any emotions in this film, you go in not knowing much about the plot and come out thinking where was the plot? this film is a quiet film, not much happens init.
As we know from the ad of the film that amir is a painter in this film, he has a one night with shai played by Monica Dogra and then the next day tells her he doesnt want a relationship, but she still follows him. amir moves to a new house where yasmin (Kirti Malhotra) used to live and there amir finds three video recordings of yasmin. in the last video she says things like I dont know if this will even reach you etc and that is the end, this makes you think that maybe her husband will kill her or she will run away due to some difficulties she was having with him. then it shows that amir and worried and gets a vision of yasmin hanging dead from the fan and he runs out of the flat and starts crying in the corridor. means while zohaib (Parteik babbar) is the dhobi and washes for amir and monica, parteik starts like shai but later finds out she likes amir and gives her his new address, and that about it. that was the story of Dhobi ghat.
There are no songs in this film, which is good because there is no need for any songs and would not fit anywhere in the movie. the acting was ok from all four stars but they didnt really get a chance to show off there acting skills. Overall the film was watchable. you will come out of the cinema with no real reaction, no thought or anything.
