I recently took the delivery of Royal Enfield Desert Storm from their Kasarwadi store in PCMC. After I paid the money through Demand Draft, I specifically told them that I want delivery only after I get the vehicle number. The person at the center told me to take delivery on Tuesday without number or on Thursday with number and on Friday also the number was taken from RTO.
This center is full of fools without any system to help them and they work in British era from where the Royal Enfield originated. One has to pay octroi of 1% extra above on road price because they get all their deliveries from RE at Pune office. I dont understand why they dont take deliveries in PCMC and avoid the double charge to customer (Pune Octroi which is built in product price and PCMC octroi which we pay extra)
RE should at least check the capabilities of their dealer to handle orders properly.
It started with booking which I did on 7/7/12, I myself contacted them in Jan and they ask me to submit papers, my question to Dhone is what if I had not contacted them, there was not a single call from them ever to let me know that I can take delivery. You must see their tax invoice, handwritten fully susceptible to error and fudging, no systematic way to work , ultimately resulting in troubles to customer.
MY ADVICE PLEASE AVOID DHONE. I KNOW IT IS DIFFICULT CONSIDERING THEIR MONOPOLY AND THE PRODUCT DEMAND.
