DHOOM 2: one of the years most awaited movie......is it good?as the first one?? just as entertaining?well......yes......and no!
Hrithik roshan is a world famous thief.he’s cool and composed..turns into any disguise instantly and gets out of it faster....YES, there is a lot of really unexplained and unbalanced action in the film....for more info read the review titled:""DHOOM 2:stupid in action.""Its very useful.
But then..we were far behind on good action and this comes as a refreshing change...kudos to the filmmakers for these high-octane sequences and lets ignore the flaws.....then the action scenes aree good!!
PLOT:
Okay..does the movie have a plot..thats a big NO-NO!!!well, there seemsto be but I just kept getting lost and then at a point..i thought...where IS this movie going??
Aryan comes to bombay..steals a daimond and somehow escapes skating thru mumbai traffic(wow)and then stealing a sword from a fort in jabalpur where he meets sunehri(a grossly overacting ash) and they also escape from there..now where to go?
There’s a sudden change of location to brazil .....what are we doing here?Aryan is here and he’s gonna steal something big....and ash as an undercover cop is to help abhishek to catch him WHILE he’s doin it!!to have proof.....we think he’s gonna catch him now...another chase sequence and some more action......cool....but not now.
But then, of we have come to catch aryan..why arent we??because he’s having a hard time trying to trust a mumbai conwoman sunehri( a grossly overacting ash).And whether he should TRUST her or not....
THIS is where the story slows down..THIS is where they try to show a different side of the thief ........... a human, loving side and then we get confused....hey!!wats he gonna do next?cos in the first half...he hardly has any dialogues....
SO he trains her....and accepts her...and ash is having a hardtime trying not to like aryan for being an HONEST theif!!well....there’s drama or is supposed to be........
BUt the ending kinda stuns you and you sit straight up in the seat...."""did that just happen??""
ACTION:
Then we pick up the pace agian......finaaly!! we have them taking decisions...having confronatations and a great chase through a tunnel......awesome!!this is the most sensible action scene of the movie.....we have normal chase with shoots and bombs and fire......nice.
There lots of action kinds of scenes we dont get to see in hindi movies often.SO wait for them...cos the whole movie isnt filled up with them.
CAST:
Abhishek bachchan is sidelined a bit but still gives you a good grumpy cop- annoyed- with- life- kinda guy .
Uday chopra is fun to watch and provides the comic relief withhis unsuccesfull attempts to woo girls.And gets the best dialogues.
Bipasha basu is likeable as a cop...and a brazilian babe who does’nt know hindi.(her twin sister).but her role is small and very nicely done.
Hrtithik roshan takes up 60 % of the movie.He tries hard to give a half-heartedly writtten character some life and somehow succeds in getting the human part out.But as a theif he’s great..shows absolute coolness and has the slickness of one.
Ash as a double sides role is just bad as she cannot handle a single sided one properly.She wears skimpy skirts and tallks like a hotass chick but infuses no life into the character of sunehri.
Rimii sen is there for 10 mins or so...but is also enjoyable cheack out her expressions when Abhiahesk and Bipasha hit it out really well and talk like best lovers...she’s great in that scene.
MUSIC:
Music is average...the title song and crazy..were the only good ones.The rest are awkwardly placed and disappoint.
WEll..worth the wait??its for you to decide.
For me it was a good...... but could- be- better movie.
