The first Dhoom movie was the first bollywood action movie Ive ever seen(Hey, Im new to this), so it holds a rather special place in my heart, especially since I enjoyed it immensely. when I found out they were making a sequel with no less than Krrish himself, I had to watch it, and once again, YR, didnt disappoint me. Now onto the juicy bits hey?
*The Plot:
*The beginning sets the mood for a fun filled action movie with lots of gravity defying stunts that are, if I may so, quite impressive.
Of coz you have your very intelligent thief, Mr A(Hrithik Roshan at his hottest I think), whos manages to ellude a couple of police in a couple of countries, much to the chagrin of ACP Shonali Bose(Bipasha Basu). She goes to Mumbai and enlists the help of our old friends Ali(Uday Chopra) and Jai Dixit(A broodingly handsome Abhishek Bachchan). Now, since Mr A is so slippery, Jai decides to plant Sunheri(Aishwarya Rai) as another thief to help nab Mr A.
How they all achieve this, and whether they do, in fact catch Mr A, is all revealed in a rather enjoyable time-pass action flick.
*The Cast:
Hrithik Roshan as Mr A/Aryan: **Can anyone be bad and look this good while doing it? He is the backbone of the whole movie and Im sure that if Hrithik Roshan wasnt in it, it wouldnt have been the success that it is. With him you have Bad, sexy as hell, sensitive and oozing sex appeal he should be charged for it! As he gets older, Hrithik plays roles that are suited for him I mean could you imagine another Mr A besides him?
Abhishek Bachchan as ACP Jai Dixit: The brooding Bachchan is back yet again with another instalment of the glib "I never smile" Jai Dixit. A man that looks ultra cool and ultra sexy while pointing a gun at a criminal. I cant help but feel that Abhishek is so used to playing this role by now he practically sleepwalks through it
Uday Chopra as Ali: Hes back and hes still funny! Although I actually liked him in the first one.
Bipasha Basu as Shonali/Monali bose: If all police women looked like her, young boys would commit crimes just to be patted down by her. Bips plays a double role in this one, but more as the ditzy non hindi-speaking Indian from Brazil(hope I havent spoilt it for anyone). I actually prefer her as Monali than Shonali.
Aishwarya Rai as Sunheri: The only fly in the ointment.SIGH.great introduction, then she opens her mouth.DOUBLE SIGH.Now, I like Ash, I mean her acting is not ascar worthy, but its watchable as well as bearable, okay, shes good. Why, she like had to speak like the way she does in this one, I have no idea!
*Diagnosis:
*I thought this was a fantastic movie.why you ask.well, since Im no film fundi, I never bother with camera angles and editing(unless its blatantly bad), I just watch the movie for its entertainment value. And let me tell you that this movie entertained me! I loved the action(Hrithik of coz), I loved the bit of romance that was thrown in, I loved ALL the songs. I do have a complaint though, and I don[t think this is a spoiler, well not anymore it isnt, but I just think that Ash could have shown more passion for Mr A in my favourite scene in the movie. I thought it was rather aesthetic and passionate, at least on Hrithiks part. Other than that little complaint, I really have nothing else to complain about. Great movie yall, LOVED IT!
