If I wanted to see all this why would I see Dhoom.

Another movie with super hype, another forced trip to the theater, more mixed feelings, luckily though this one was at least this one was entertaining.

The feeling that confused me the most throughout this movie was that the filmmakers lacked any direction, they had no idea about why they were making this movie and who they were making it for, I mean on one end you have everything including the subtitles and credits in English, hell this movie must have more English than any other Hindi movie in mainstream history.

Frankly speaking I don’t mind the Hinglish but the credits and subtitles in English are disgusting.

So let assume this movie has been made for a bilingual urban audience...

Now can someone please tell me if I wanted to wanted to watch English speaking people doing stunts of this nature why would I watch this movie. I mean there are a dozen B-grade English movies that have better special effects and plots than this.

So if this movie has been made for the semi-urban and rural audience then what the F*&^ is so much English and Pseudo Hollywood style (including a bloody kiss in UA movie, reminds me of the Kapoors getting Ram Teri Ganga Maili passed similarly, what bloody double standards) doing in this movie.

Even the characters are treated similarly on one side you have Abhishek being the tough cool guy and in some scenes you have him chasing a depressed Uday, this movie is riddled with such things that make it obvious that this movie has been conceived as a series of scenes which have been patched together.

THERE IS NO TAKING AWAY THE PRODUCTION QUALITY OF THIS MOVIE THOUGH.

Outside of Don which is probably the most technically sound movie to come out of bollywood this movie is probably the second best, mainly because the graphics have not been abused as in Krishh.

The stunts maybe to over the top for my liking but they were no doubt fun. Hoever they were based on the very important assumption that everyone else besides Hritik Roshan and to some extent Abhishek is a Dumb-ass.

The acting was fine from the entire cast including Uday (yes Uday), but Hritiks lack of acting ability is becoming even more obvious he has expanded his range to 4 characters now...

1)The essential weird guy (how people call this great acting fails me)

2)The look at me in to hot I’m to cool man (puckered face even)

3)The I’m the emotional metro-sexual man.

4)Im trying to be funny man. (still needs work).

Aishwariya Rai tries to be hot but sorry ash. TOO LITTLE TO LATE.

She fails to match up-to even Bipasha in this movie.

At the cost of sounding weird I would like to say that one of the best parts about this movie was Bipasha and Uday they were annoying at times but embodied the typical Indian slapstick comedy.

Also although I hate emotional romantic scenes at least their presence in this gave it some Indian flavour.

Product placement wasn’t as tasteful as Don but was good enough to be annoying.

The songs were good but I was still waiting for the magic of Dhoom.

Even if you are the kind who’s over-critical of movies you’ll have a good time just finding the flaws.

This movie was so predictable that even a small child who sat behind me and who called Hritik Krissh knew the twist, that crazy.

Must stop rambling........must be strong must conclude....

In all this movie may not live up-to its hype but at least you wont regret watching this movie.

Despite many flaws this movie is entertaining and worth the watch since its worth promoting movie with such high production values, and because curiosity factor is just too high.

-s unclear motives, songs so-so, some scenes to over the top, height of predictable.(i swear I’m not lying about the child)

+/-s Aishwariya and Hritik (fans may love this movie).

+s superb technically, Bipasha is super-hot, OK throughout.

total 6.5/10 (on absolute terms it is lower but really I expected much lesser)

PS ALTERNATE OPINION PROVES THE FACT THAT IN India EVEN ORDINARY MOVIES CAN SUCCEED IF PUBLICISED ENOUGH DO WE REALLY WANT TO ENCOURAGE THIS.
