Dhoom..... is Doomed!

Dhoom

Let?s get the plot out of the way first. Five Motorcycle borne crooks led by John Abraham create havoc in the city with their capers. Abishek Bachan, the Super cop is on their trail. Uday Chopra, the lovable crook with the heart of gold helps the cops. Esha and Rimi are the candy floss gals showing off their bods? u get the picture.

The plot is a fantasy and has no relevance to reality, (do u really believe there can be lovable crooks!) so suspend your thinking faculties and do not worry about the plot.

As far the acting goes Abhishek is ok but one gets the feeling he is either trying too hard in some scenes and in some is just not bothered. The scene at the Hotel in Goa where he pretends to be drunk is embarrassing and juvenile, not a patch on what his father could do in a scene like this.

Uday Chopra is just so-so, boring and does not really make contact with the Audience, he seems to depend on his Bulk and one single woebegone expression.

But John Abraham takes the cake he does not have even one expression! And is only a good clothes horse?. Or lol a store Dummy he is so wooden faced.

The ladies in the movie are there to provide a skin show but even then I did not find them interesting leave alone sexy. (To tell the truth I still prefer to watch Esha`s Mom in Baghban!) In fact Esha seems to have got her moms face but her dad?s body lol. ( Dharam Paaji used to show his paunch and think its sexy!)

The Music is foot tapping specially the Title Song, I preferred the version by Tata Young, but the dancing is ?. What we called PT in school.

The locales and glorious and the roads in Mumbai I have never found so clean and empty!

The highlight of the movie?. The bike and the bikes and the bikes.

The camera work is excellent.

I fell in love with the mean machines and the way the chases are shot one enjoys the thrills. I like specially the shot of the boat leaping up in front of the truck. The camera angles and the editing make the whole thing quite exciting.

The fight scenes seem contrived and do not flow naturally. I believe this is due to again trying too hard. Its funny to see John Abraham in these scenes his face has no expression. This guy must be eighth wonder in the world he goes through all situations with a wooden face and still manages to get roles!

All in all a time pass movie if you enjoy Bikes, stylish camerawork and some light foot tapping, but on the whole forgettable music.

I had much more fun writing this review :)

I would love to know what you felt after seeing the movie.

Kris.
