You know the plot you know the dialogues. Everything is predictable but still lovable. That is what all Bond movies are about. This one is no exception from it. This movie also have all the Bond sure-haves, unforgetful theme music, nude babes in the titles, opening action scene and of course cool advanced gadgets including a invisible car.
Movie starts with Bond style grand introduction. After he finishes the mission successfully in his usual manner, surprisingly he gets caught. Here comes Madonna song and titles. His release in prisoner’s exchange, his health checkup, his and his escape from the hospital, after he get to know his abandonment from service, to take the revenge don’t take lot of time. How he gets himself into mission and finishes it is the remaining story.
Academy award winner Halle Berry(Jinx) and Rosamund Pike(Miranda) are the Bond girls in this movie. Bond girls here are not just sex bombs in the movie. How can you call girls who fight a rousing swordfight as just sex bombs. But do not worry guys. HB’s introduction scene sure will leave an impression which will last long. If you have seen atleast the preview of the movie, you understand which scene i’m referring to.
There are few scenes where Bond does unbelievable things in even more unbelievable manner. Surfing using a iron plate and a parachute while ice bergs falling is worst of them, not at all convincing.
Filming locations include Hawaii, Iceland, Spain, Scotland and London. The casting include Toby Stephens(GG), Rick Yune(Zao), Michael Madsen(Falco).
Performances:
If anyone still have any doubts on Brosnan as Bond, they better watch this movie. Peirce Brosnan done a wonderful job in here. It is his show all along except few scenes where HB also ablazes.
Halle Berry is not only beautiful but gets almost equal applause in all the scenes she did with Bond. The chemistry between them is a big plus point to this movie.
Rosamund Pike did justice to her role. Toby Stephens is handsome, cunning, sarcastic and everything that a villain should be. By the way Madonna plays a cameo roll but didn’t get a rememberable roll.
Director Lee Tamhori did a splendid job in giving the usual charisma to Bond. Photography is simply superb. To watch it yourself, do not miss the beginning of the movie.
It is worth watching for everyone and feast to eyes for Bond lovers.
