The movie is, in one word, "funny". it has a funny story which makes almost no sense, it has some funny emotions which again is very cliched.......however, to save the day, it has some funny or say fun-filled situation as well.
Story: Anupam kher and Dilip tahil arrange a cricket match per year to extend friendship between India and Pakistan and Khers team is always at the loosers end. so, Kher invites his son Shahid Kapoor to take control of the next years team as a coach and present him a victory. Rani mukherjee is an awesome cricket player and wants to be in the team at any cost. so, she dresses like a boy and enters the team.
To conceal her identity she starts playing 2 characters. one is "Veer" - the boy and cricketer and another is "Veera" - the village belle and Veers sister who doesnt know English. In due course of time, Shahid Kapoor falls for Rani the girl though he didnt have any proper reason to. except the girls towel fell down twice in front of his popping eyes (do I need to say that the Veera was wearing nothing except the towel at that time........).
in due course of time the curtain was pulled down from Veer/Veera double identity. after a little misunderstanding, Shahid gets the girl and Anupam Khers team wins the match.
Analysis: *one more bogus movie from Chopras stable which tries to tickle too many emotions and ends up in a zilch. there is this "cricket" emotion, "India-Pak friendship" emotion, distance family emotion, the emotion called love, and last but not the least is this "emotion tends to feminism". dont miss the scene where Rani goes for selection test for the cricket team in a girls outfit, the watchman sends her back and at that very moment some people was worshipping a Goddess. noble thinking, but totally childish approach. in an era where movies such as Kaminey or TZP are actually happening, this cant fetch you an audience. the Y.R. Flims....please grow up.
there is only one positive thing about the movie. Rani acted really well as "Veer" (the boy). she was looking cute in that role. and there are some funny situations with Rani as veer. thats all.
