Have a Swanky blast guys!!!!!!!

This one sizzles with Novelty. And it makes you feel scrumptious with Joy. Switch to the era of Dil Chahta Hai guys. It shall make you fall in love with the mint freshness of College friendships. And trust me, it is not your proverbial ‘run-off-the-mill stuff’. Infact, totally far from it.

Akash, Sameer and Sid are buddies. They are friends you can relate to for they are not the usual dost-bhai-ke-samaan types. It is actual real friendship! The kind of stuff we all have experienced. The fun, the frolic, the torrid romances and then the onslaught of Maturity. Dil Chahta Hai is all this and more…..

Akash is a shameless flirt with a knack for looking innocent even while saying or doing the most atrocious of things. Sameer is the shy, laidback, easy-to-fall-in love kinds with a slightly low self-esteem. Sid is the individualistic painter who hates to impose himself. They are totally different from each other. And they are a Roar when they are together.

The carefree, humorous Akash ridicules the very idea of Love until the cupid strikes him like the powerful aura of a soft gush of wind. Sameer loves being dumped by his girlfriends. Infact, he devices new ways to get into ‘messy’ situations but then, Pooja had to happen. Sid is the impressionist painter lost in a world of his own, thriving on uncertainty. Tara, a middle aged beauty serves his muse. His best painting!

I can’t tell you anything more than this. You have to watch it to come out refreshed and nostalgic. Dil Chahta Hai is a pathbreaking film in more ways than one. Debutant director Farhan Akhtar looks absolutely in control of the film. His contribution: Writer, Director and Dialogues. Fabulous. Simply fabulous. Here’s a director to watch out for. He can give the likes of Manoj Shyamalan a run for their money.

Ravi Chandran’s camera is unimaginably brilliant. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is alright, but no great shakes. Nakul Kamte’s sound design is a new insight after his recent success with Lagaan. And then, last but not the least, Dil Chahta Hai is a Style statement.

The hairstyles of all the leading players, their chic dressing sense and Attitude is like the first rays of sunlight after a monsoon night in a hill station.

As for the performances, they are way above the usual Hindi films’ standards. Aamir is smashing, Akshaeye bowls you over with his unassuming creativity and Saif is a Total surprise. Women fail to leave a mark, though, Preity manages to look gorgeous and Dimple is Vintage stuff (But a half baked role doesn’t do her much justice).

Dil Chahta Hai is a Must. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be booking your tickets today. Have a Blast guys!!!!!!
