No new tale to tell..........

Could have been much more better

The story is about a rich young man Jai Mehta (Arjun Rampal) who falls head over heels in love with Tia (Aishwarya Rai) But Tia loves Raj(Priyanshu) Jai tries to win Tia’s love with all the sweet things he can do for her but in vain. Tia marries Raj. Life is full of icecreams n’ chocolates, when Tia gives birth to a lill’ baby boy.

Here Jai has become an alcoholic due to frustration of his lost love. One night when he is driving home with his freind Anita(Isha Kopikar) his car dashes with the car Raj and Tia are returning home in. Raj and Anita lose their lives in this clash. Tia loses her memory. Tia’s mother (Rakhee) has made up her mind to punish Jai, but Jai offers help in recovering Tia. Any one can make out what happens next which can lead to a happy ending.

Dil Ka Rishta seems to be intresting as it starts off and is intresting till the first half. But as the second half starts, how much u feel it could have been much better. It is just another one of those feel good cinemas. But it really builds up ur expectations in the first half. The story is nothing new. We have seen many movies telling this same ol’ tale. In fact Tum Bin was a better movie running on the tracks of same story line. While watching the second half, I couldn’t help wondering, ’Why wasn’t Anubhav Sinha directing this one?’ The scenes where Jai & Raj confront each other could have been given a more memorable touch. Those could have helped to show Jai haunted by the past memories effectively. But the present scenes in the movie showing Jai’s guilty conscious don’t go very far to touch the viewer’s heart. Anita (Isha Kopikar) no one is bothered about her death except a single scene where Jai cries thinking about her. But then that’s that.

Music is pleasant to ears. The ’Dayya Dayya’ number has been coreographed very well. The rest of the songs are hummable too. Cinematography is a key point. Ashok Mehta has done a good job with his camera work. Director Naresh Malhotra leaves an impact with some good scenes but soon loses grip in the second half.

On the acting front, Arjun Rampal has improved a lot from his earlier films. Aishwarya Rai is lovable as ever. Rakhee is first rate. Paresh Rawal entertains. Isha Kopikar proves her acting skills in her cameo role.

The 3 star rating goes mainly for the first half. The second half disappoints. Watch it only when u have ample of free time.

Overall an okay dokay movie which could have been much much better.
