Public Display of Affection !

?Ho ho ho ?. the fearlessness of youth?? an effusive Harsha Bhogle verbalizes impromptu, as Yuvraj and Kaif sneaks yet another overthrow. Venue: England, Occasion: Natwest Series Finals. The match ended in a historical win. ?Historic?, because of two reasons?first the Indian win chasing a mammoth total and secondly for the first time in the history of cricket, a cricket captain had exhibited emotions (er..antics) that would take the footballers by attaint.

Coming back to youth and more significantly to ? Dil Maange More? and its homology with the above incident. Explain this for me, in the times, when good looking girls are as nonextant as the great Bengal Tiger (no I am not talking about Sourav dada), how can you even envisage having?not one or two but three affairs with three stunning damsels. Only todays youth can...

Final distraction, while we had again mentioned about Sourav Ganguly. Anybody who says Indian cricket is against rotation policy in Tests , should be hanged till alive?.or dead (actually does it matter really?). In the past 6-7 months we have rotated players, putting up top test players like Aakash Chopra (who?) and Yuvraj singh (did some ask who? ? come on you know him, he is Kim Sharma?s boyfriend?and please now don?t ask me Kim Sharma who?..).

Ya, so while these great players were facing the music against Australia; some struggling players like Sachin (tennis elbow?. he must have held a heavy tennis racket for an upcoming TV commercial), Saurav Ganguly (rested?er injured) were being ? rested?. And then for a tougher series against Bangladesh, those fringe players (Sourav, Sachin) got their chance to prove themselves at International level. Now since they did well, in the Bangladesh test series, they deserve some rest for the forthcoming Pakistan test series :)

?Still reading?. are you??. OK no more beguilement. Back to ?Dil Maange More?.

Remember ?Ishq Vishq?; the film bestowed the cine goers with a prospective superstar, in the form of Shahid Kapur. Two movies later, he still only promises to be one. He has made progress no doubt, but not in leaps and bounds. ?He copies Shahruk?, is the allegation of many, but let us condone him for that, as we always look UP for inspiration, don?t we?( or else he would have been copying Mithun da (yikes!)). It will be however, incorrect to make any foreboded conclusion about his fortune, as he is still very young and is not over-exposing himself (except via MMS : D) and most importantly is improving.

Shahid Kapur, along with Tulip joshi, Ayesha Takia and Soha Ali Khan (debut) are the main protagonist of this mushy fib. A Fib, because under all practical considerations, this cannot happen in real life ( no, really ..how on earth can one guy have 3 smashing girlfriends). Cannot happen in India, not in Samarpur atleast.

Ah Samarpur! , Is where the story starts, Nikhil (Shahid) is a youth icon of Samarpur who does a lot of things like managing a college stated by his father and a candid girlfriend Neha (Soha Ali Khan).

And when he is not doing the above he plays. No, not cricket, but Football. And like apna Sachin, he too suffers from tennis elbow (why else he would wear a wrist band so high on his forearm, akin Sachin Tendulkar?).

Neha and Nikhil, despite being close friends, have different ideologies. While Nikhil is in love with Samarpur and the rainbows, Neha wants to explore the world. In such an endeavor, Neha decides to join Airhostess academy in Mumbai, leaving Samarpur and apna hero Nikhil.

But fear of losing his childhood love takes its toll on Nikhil, and he departs for the big city, in quest to bring back his sweetheart.

? Maut aur Mumbai se koi laut kar nahi aata? remarked one of his friend while handing over the keys of his uncle?s flat in Mumbai (free accommodation. ..not bad). Luck however, had something else in store for Nikhil, as he confronts Sara (Tulip Joshi) , an employee at a Music store. As happenes in most of candy floss romantic stories, this store is bang opposite, Neha?s ( Soha ali khan) air hostess training institute.

The manager of the store A.R.Rehman ( Gulshan Grover), manages to rope in Nikhil to work for the store, owing to Nikhil?s quality knowledge on music and looks to attract youngsters. Nikhil also confronts Shagun (Ayesha Takia), his pesky but cute looking neighbour, but their differential alchemy keeps them apart.

Meantime, all efforts made by Nikhil to convince, Neha goes in vain, as she takes off for her maiden air adventure. Discouraged, by his failure to convince Neha, Nikhil decides to return, but with a promise to return back for the commemoration organized by the Music store, he works for. Beguiled by Nikhil?s fascinating depiction of Samarpur, Sara accompanies Nikhil to Samarpur. Sara finds the place wonderful and Nikhil starts finding her wonderful.

Our lover boy is in love again, wow.. but just when, Nikhil decides to express his feeling for Sara, she leaves Samarpur enigmatically.

Nikhil follows Sara to Mumbai, but finds her committed to another man.

Poor Nikhil. :(

Shattered and dejected as a wet hen (courtesy Mr. Sidhu) by his second failure, Nikhil decides to leave Mumbai for good. But?yes but ( again) not before checking his mail and that too on Shagun?s PC.

Nikhil is appalled to find that Shagun is in love with him, albeit on the QT (read. ?secretively).

Real love blossoms yet again for Nikhil, and he seemed to be third time lucky in love.

The movie look over by this time, but the Director ( Anant Mahadevan) has some more twists to offer.

The return of first Neha and then Sara, as they actualized their love for Nikhil creates loads of confusion, leading to complete chaos in Nikhil?s life.

Go and watch for:

Who gets the boy finally? Neha, Shagun or Sara?

And for the computer generated yet picturesque seven rainbows,

And lots more.

Not convinced? Then go and watch the movie for the music alone. Mostly fast-paced numbers, the music blends in the movie attractively. Add to that some good choreography and above par dance performances by the stars, they become a real treat to watch.

Acting department however is a little decrepit. It?s Shahid, Shahid and only him, who excel amongst others. He has impressed in all departments, acting, dance, and comedy. A truely skookum performance.

Gulshan Grover as a flamboyant music store manager looks very relaxed and polished. Good choice for debut by Soha Ali Khan. Poor girl looks so nervous in front of the camera, that any other movie, where she didn?t have any other actress to share the screen space, would have cut a very sorry picture for her. Looks OK, buts needs to work on her acting.

Tulip Joshi looks bubbly and managed has her role astutely, but Ayesha Takia, stands out amongst the girls. Trade pundits have started touting her as the next ?Big? thing in bollywood. (I hope they not literal while saying ?Big?: D). In the movie though, she has emoted well, acted well apart from looking sensational.

The weakest link of the movie is its stale and predictable storyline. But the freshness of youth has precluded storyline and other minor defects and made the movie a good time pass affair.

That?s all your honour.
