Dil Se is a film that takes itself too seriously. In india the junta prefers films with glitches. However, there is raw passion running throughout, with a lot of drama added everywhere. The story itself is pan-indian.A journalist from cocky Delhi falling in love with an Assamese suicide-bomber.Both the hero and heroine are obsessed with what they want. The hero wants to unite with the terrorist at any personal cost.It does not matter that a beautiful Delhi girl is waiting to be his bride.Infact, so great is his love for a girl he doesnt know, she is put up at his residence. The lovers meet only in gruesome death. The hero must make the choice between protecting his nation, and getting his chosen girl. The film has many songs. Most songs are shot with abandon. There is an effort to be magnificent everywhere.Imaginativeness is given priority over relevance. It is assumed that grandeur and extravagance make a film popular and successful. This is why Dil Se failed at home and was a thumping success abroad where grand films are everyday events.
