Dilip Kumar Deserves Bharat Ratna .

The Indian Film Industry has appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to bestow the Bharat Ratna on Dilip Kumar.

Director Mahesh Bhatt started the mission to promote Dilip Kumar for Bharat Ratna, Aamir Khan, Kamal Hassan, Yash Chopra, Rakesh Roshan, Mukesh Bhatt, Ramesh Sippy, Subhash Ghai and some more big shots from the industry later joined in to support him.

Mahesh Bhatt informed, “Dilip Kumar is an icon of Indian film industry, and he is a symbol of India without a doubt. No one in the industry claims such a career before India got independence to a decade before.”

Yusuf Khan, born on December 11, 1922. As hero of Bombay Talkies’ Jwar Bhata (1944), Yusuf Khan was rechristened Dilip Kumar. The legendary Devika Rani was responsible in giving him this name. Thus began a long successful career spanning more than 65 years.

Dilip Kumar, is known for his landmark performances in films like Mela, Andaz, Kohinoor, Devdas, Naya Daur, Madhumati, Ganga Jamuna, Mughal-E-Azam, Ram aur Shyam, Kranti, Vidhaata, Shakti , Karma & Saudagar.

Dilip Kumar the greatest actor in the Indian film industry has acted in only sixty four films in his long career of sixty five years and is still regarded as the best.

The actor who feels, "Acting is all about transporting oneself away from one’s personality... it’s an effort to create or recreate from the world around, "

Thespian Dilip Kumar is an institution. With articulate gestures and silences, his method has been adopted by generations of stars. Dilip Kumar’s performances have been ranked as high art. His acting skills have captured every human emotion & every mood. He is a man for all seasons.

Since the forties, his career reflected his incredible talent and he’s become a source book for actors. It is hardly necessary to list the legendary exploits of this Great. To have provided unmatched brilliant performance in all his movies, to have provided sparkle to the works of innumerable young actors, in the annals of Indian film industry

Dilip Kumar is the true ambassador of this country - an iconic symbol who persona and career can be succinctly euologised as cultural heritage. There is not a lexicon made that can encompass his astonishing feats. The respect, love and adoration the country has for him is phenomenal by all standards.

The thought of Dilip Kumar not being honoured with Bharat Ratna really pains me. But, I console myself by saying that without this award Dilip Kumar’s greatness will not diminish in any way.

Dilip Kumar a man known for his goodness. His secular life style & humane approach in helping people in need truly make him a jewel in India’s crown.Dilip Kumar supports over fifty needy families of all faiths in Mumbai by providing them with food, clothes and medicines. He also provide medical and educational assistance to the needy. His charity work is conducted quietly.

A gentleman with a huge fan following even today after sixty five years after his golden career. He is the epitome of humility as can be gauged by the fact what other contemporaries had to say about him.

I am surprised that the legend is not given his due. He certainly deserves the Bharat Ratna. No other Indian deserves this award more than him. It’s the right time to salute the legend and confer him the Bharat Ratna .Better late than never.

Dilip Kumar deserves Bharat Ratna for more reasons than one. He is one simple soul who is above factional and religious politics. The government would be sending right signals to all right-thinking people of this country by conferring Bharat Ratna on Dilip Kumar.

Nothing will be happier for Dilip Kumar fans to see their legend honoured with the highest civilian award. It has to be carefully ensured that things are planned in a systematic way because political bottlenecks are not so easy to sail through.

Perhaps the biggest drawback of our system is that it goes more by ‘Hero Worship’, rather than appreciating an individual by one’s actually worth. Certainly Dilpi Kumar is worth a ‘Bharat Ratna’, but I believe that we should not go and beg for it from the Government of India. If it gives well and good, if no then no issues. Dilip Kumar will be remembered for centuries to come, which is bigger then any award.

Dilip Kumar’s journey is not over. Even these days the best directors of bollywood like to engage him in their new projects. The viewers want Dilip Kumar to continue acting in bollywood films if his health permits. Viewers had got addicted to his soft tune of dialogue throwing and want him to reproduce the magic again.

I appreciate Face Book, A community registered under the name “Dilip Kumar for Bharat Ratna” in Facebook is lobbying to garner support for the 86-year-old actor to be awarded the highest civilian award of the nation

Finally it is time for our Government to wake up to honour the greatest Icon of the film industry who has created a wave in the hearts of millions of people all over the world.
