DINOSAUR
WALT DISNEY PICTURES
DIRECTED BY ERIC LEIGHTON, RALPH ZONDAG
The latest in along line of Disney animated videos to be released on video, Dinosaurs title creature has atleast this much in common with that studios earlier characters such as Bambi, Simba and Tarzan.
In a truly dazzling opening sequenze that-even after coming close to being desensitised by the woundrous computer-generated graphics of many movies in the last few years-is guaranteed to leave the viewer gasping, a dinosaur makes aprecrious jorney through many close calls and would be predators, before landing on an island.
On hatching, the dinosaur-to be called Alandar-is reared by a group of kindly lemurs and so grows up to be a caring , gentle iguanadon who knows no worries and doesnt see himself as being much different from the monkeys around him.
A meteor shower (another spectacular sequence)ends this life of bliss, with Alandar and his adopted family making their way the mainland and then joining a large group of dinosaurs that are trekking their way across the wilderness constitute a major chumk of the movie.
With the film itself costing $128 million, theres no denying that the huge budget is well spent:the 3-D look of the sweeping visuals and the realistic sound mixing is incredible.Amid all the effort they sem to have forgotten tp put in a credible story or a witty script
