I remember When I was in school on sundays there used be a program called National Geographic Hour. I never used to missed that for anything.At that time I was wondering if we had a Channel dedicated to all these informative programs.Well it took nearly 5-6 yrs for such a channel to invade our Living rooms.
Now lets have a close look on what programs are featured on this channel.
Wildlife:
As a kid you always love to watch animals specially the Lions, Tigers, Elephants etc.......The Channel has a variety of shows featuring wild animals.like Wild Discovery, Untamed Africa, etc... Most of these are favourites among the school kids.
Science & Technology:
But among the teenagers who are more hungry for information, It has programs for these category as well.Science Frontiers an one hour show which features one of the latest technology in detailed and attractive manner.The latest technology right from working of Television to the Space Shuttle.It features many more Series which would discuss the invention of a particular product.It features everything right from latest cars to the Fighter Planes, Submarines, Hacking.
History:
Well there are few more programs which would concentrate on the past, some of the series like Great Mysteries and Myths of the 20th Century and Histories Turning Points will tell us about some intresting history which changed the entire world.One of the Best Story featured was on the CUBAN MISSILE issue which happend in the mid 60’s which had almost triggered a Nuclear war between US and USSR.
Travel :
If you are neither so techy nor historian person, but you just love to travel places.We have Lonely Planet and Travellers which features one country in one hour show.it tells everything about the place with all the important information and places of interest.
Spy and Detectives:
If you are a person who likes to read thrillers and spy stories, This channel has got something for you as well.Medical detectives one of my favourite series it features about how police and forensic people try to solve murder cases.It features real life stories.
So it shows that whatever type of a person you are, Discovery has everything for you.i can watch the channel for the entire day without getting bored.Its always better to have some information rather watching some stupid GHAR GHAR KI stories.
