I love the Discovery channel! Unfortunately, my husband does not share my enthusiasm for this channel, so I only watch it when he is busy doing something else. (Late night is a good time for me, since I am plagued by insomnia.)
I enjoy watching the documentaries on animals. (I once saw a spectacular show on gray wolves.) I like watching the shows on forensic crime solving, too.
The channel offers fantastic shows of archaeological nature.
I am particularly fond of watching the shows on ancient Egypt.
I think my favorite shows, however, are the ones which detail surgical procedures. Just last night, I watched a show on plastic surgery. The surgeries done were a rhinoplasty (nose job), hair transplant, and two types of skin regeneration. One was a chemical peel, and the other was a laser peel. These were fascinating to watch. I must admit, the rhinoplasty and the hair transplant were a little bloody. If you are the least bit squeamish, you will not enjoy these shows. I have always been interested in medicine and surgical procedures.
If you are tired of the same old fare on television, try tuning in to the Discovery channel. You just might like what you find.
