On Feb 25 2012 I took a decision to get a Dish TV connection Tru HD+activated at my home. And since then the experience has been more than pathetic which not only highlights technical incompetency of your staff but also is a clear case of adding insult to the injury.
I received a call from 0172 3247570 at 12:30 pm on aforesaid date that the staff to install the dish would be there at my residence by 2pm or so. However when nobody turned up till 4pm I had to approach the customer care helpline. The customer care executive was of little help as it kept on asking me “complaint number “ that the executive from 0172 3247570 “must have given to you, sir”. However no such number was provided to me and she expressed her helplessness “without that number” . Hence it amounts to deficiency in service for which the customer can’t be held to ransom-confined to the four walls of this home –not allowing him to move out on a weekend as a wait of over 2 hours for the installation team to land up can indeed be frustrating.
The staff did land up and the dish was installed and I was shown those HD channels working and was told that the rest of the channels would get activated once the box is kept on for about 2 hrs.
I got a call from 8860631218 informing me about “how to use the recording function” and I was told about the “surprise gift” –that being a 4GB USB drive and I should let the dealer know about the same. When I contacted the dealer he showed complete ignorance of any such scheme! A case of over promise and under delivery.
However till 830pm i.e. after a period of close to 3 hrs was over the channels were still not working that I approached the help line number where I was told that the “ Dish has not been properly aligned with the transponder” and a visit of the technician would be arranged and “ you will have to pay Rs 150 for the visit”. On being countered that why did the installation team did not check the alignment some 4 hours back and why should I be penalized for an act of omission of the installation team that she agreed to get the visit arranged for “ free of cost”.
Does Dish TV thinks this kind of treatment by your staff members is justified and should I continue with a company that calls itself as “ the largest DTH provider of India” but provides an experience totally contrary to that.
