Major issues with Dish TV installation

I got a dish TV box in Chennai 3 weeks back from company as a gift, and 5 dish care contact numbers(Cosmic) were provided for installation purpose. I’ve tried calling the numbers a minimum 150 times but no one answers and there has been no call to me yet though I had provided complete address while taking the box from the dealer.


The Dish call center is a farce and waste of money, you have to call a gurgaon number on STD where a rep will tell you that your viewing card is not activated. when you ask them to activate it they mention that a installation team will come and do it. I’ve called atleast 10 times and have a complaint number which has no compliance levels(timebound fix), the whole helpline system is useless and a waste of money. every single time i’ve been kept on hold for more than 10 mins after which I disconnect to save me breaking my phone in frustration. (mind you, the rep cool-ly tells you not to disconnect the line before putting you on a never ending hold)


For me the first time helpline rep mentioned a team will visit you in 48 hours and today its the 10th day and there’s has not been a single call let alone a visit.


On the other had my office manager could install a tata dish within 3 days flat without any hiccups. I cannot endorse tata as i’ve never been a user.


if anyone from Zee / dish tv / intrex is listening, my request is please dont harass your customer, please provide numbers and name of people one can contact.


To Dish TV aspirants: Stay away from this product if you are planning to see the world cup, you will not even see the finals.


As for me: I am completely lost  as what to do and my dish and set top box is lying at home bieng used as a garbage bin
