I brought the Dish TV HD. I got a call within 5 minutes after I had sent an SMS request. The service guys came in the very next day as promised and installed the equipment. Installation took nearly 2 hours.
I paid them Rs.750 + Samsung LCD voucher ( got this at the time of purchase ) + Rs.75 for extra cable. I had to wait for a day to get the glimpse of how an Satellite HD looks like as the activation takes a days time. The product was finally activated next day evening and most of the channels were activated.
FACTS:
There are only three TRU HD channels available. 1. Nat GEO., 2. DiscoveryHD 3. Star CricketHD.
Dish T V gives a list of al-ca-cater HD channels on their site., a number totalling upto 10-15. Those are only the channels labeled as HD and not real HD.
If you see a bluray and compare that with DISH HD ., you might be disappointed, . Reason being., the quality is near to HD or a BluRay, or a MKV 1080p movie. But I do appreciate the quality, as there are no other services available at the time of writing this review.
There is a IND vs PAK match thats suppose to begin ( at the time of writing this review) on StarCricket., which is again HD. Some of you might appreciate the fact that this channel is without any Ad breaks at all......... :)
SOUND.
I have not tested the 5.1 channel sound quality of this product. However 2 channel sound quality sounds better than my existing Hathway Settop box!!!.
COSTS.
The cost to subscribe to an HD service is Rs., 125 / - per month. But that s not the end of the story. To activate this pack you need to subscribe to a Platinum pack as well which costs Rs., 325/-
So the overall costs for the HD pack would be 125 + 325. which is on the higher side.
End Story.
If you are a nature lover and would stick to watching animals and plants. (with good sound quality) you can purchase this product.
The overall product experience is good as of now., but I have rated as average as the price is on the higher side.
