Dish tv tru hd is truly affordable

I had purchased an lcd tv a year ago and was always looking to buy a hd settop box. Sun dth launched their hd service last year but they priced it too high. Finally a month or so back I saw a dishtv ad giving the hd service for just Rs.2990/- and I jumped and immediately bought it.I got 5 hd channels initially.

Discovery hd, nat goe, espn.zee tv and zee cinema. Espn showing fifa was the best in quality. Discovery and nat geo look ok but certainly not awesome. They keep repeating the same programmes and you get tired after sometime. Now they are showing ten sports in hd for the cricket matches.but the telecast

Quality is so poor that it looks like a regular sd channel.it certainly not hd as claimed. I found no difference in quality between regular zee tv and its hd channels.

The sound quality on the hd channels is low and you have to double the volume levels. It is certainly not

5.1 or even stereo.

The positives about dishtv are that the picture quality on hindi channels is quite good. The picture quality on zeetv channels is even better.looks almost like hd sometimes.

If you have an lcd tv and if you watch hindi mainly then buying dishtv tru hd is well recommended.

Watching hd channels is interesting because of the improved picture quality on discovery and nat geo. However for people watching tamil channels like me the much lower quality is a letdown. I was surprised that suntv which looks great on even local cable looks washed out in picture quality.

I sometimes get the feeling whether they do it purposely as sun is a competitor but it is not a great idea.for people in the south sun tv hd which has also lowered the cost of its settop box would be a better buy
