I brought this dth receiver from zee with hope of DVD quallity picture.I should say I very disappointed with zee claim for DVD quality.One thing is sure either zee people don’t know what is DVD quality picture looks like or they cheating the people with their claims.I searched for the reviews before purchasing the receiver.No one has written any reviews on this.My guess is they are so frustated or they dont bother.
The quality of the picture is not much better than the normal cable connection.Some the channels like ESPN, B4U music, TRACE(most horrible), abc have very low quality picture compared to the cable.Actually I opted for dth bcoz of ESPN and B4U music channels(which were not provided by hathway at the time of wrting this review).SOme of the channels like cctv9, zee business are clear which I usually don’t watch.I would recccomend people not to go for the zee dth if they expect good quality picture compared to cable.
the picture quality is also good for premier cinema, classic cinema, action cinema.As far as sound is concerned it is pretty ok.
The cost of the receiver allong with dish and VC card activation charge comes around Rs7500(subscription charges not included).You can use only the receiver(STB )provided by zee.
