I made the mistake of paying online for a DishTV subscription for a year. My card has been debited for the amount, but Dish TV reports the transaction as "failed". My money is meanwhile stuck in no mans land and Dish has conveniently disconnected my connection for "non-payment".
And do not expect to get any help from customer support - I was punching around on the IVR options and on hold for about half an hour before I could get to talk to anyone - and they were unable to resolve it.
I have decided to shift back to my local cable provider - he usually picks up any call in a couple of rings and if there is a problem, he lands up at my house within half an hour.
