I mean it. DIshTV is just pathetic. I am from Ahmedabad but I m sure every1 here, irrespective of geographical location, wd share my view. There is absolute indifference and no concern for customers problems.
At any point of time, a few of the channels wont be available to you due to tech fault. Everytime it rains, your DTH will stop functioning for few minutes or few hours or even longer. Some of the channels are perpetually not available though in the list.
WORST part is that DishTV has no local offices for service. For any smallest problem, one needs to call up their call centre and take their advice which is never useful. This is a toll free number only for BSNL customer, so if u dont hv BSNL connection, you will end up incurring STD charges every alternate day.
They have local "franchisee", who will charge you 100 Rs. per visit even for Technical fault of DishTV! They have been given complete freedom to loot customers the way they want to.
I have failed to understand how a mass service provider can do without local service centres, especially for a new technology.
Problems are endless and unsolved, but to sum up and conclude, I wd repeat that this is a pathetic service and please please stay away from this if you wish to have mental peace. I was given same advice but I went ahead with DishTV for petty freebies but that was one of the biggest mistake I made in past year.
SOme of my relatives have TataSky and in terms of service, they are absolutely superb. TataSky have their own service stations at all the major places and they are proactive to ensure that their customers dont have any problems even during monsoon. Their service personnel visited each and every customer before monsoon to check the connection, openings, fittings etc etc and ensured a no problem service for their customers.
I hv not given any star rating as well because one star depicts Poor. But this service is worse than that, again, its just pathetic.
Let me repeat, just dont go for DishTV evenif it is available for free.
