Diu is union territory with the border of South-west Gujarat. The island is connected with a road from the land area. It is having nice climate, humid during summer times. The island was earlier under portugal, and hence you will find most of the old building and hotels there are of portugal architecture. I went diu 4 years back with my friends from Vadodara, gujarat. It took us around 14 hours to reach the place with a private taxi. We stayed there 2 nights at a hotel.
There was quite a lot places and spots to see around apart from the Jhalandar and nagoa beach.
Our first day was at the these two beaches. Second day we went to Diu fort, which was some 500 years back and surrounded with sea from three sides. You can find many secrect caves and escape routes within the forts which leads to some really surprising sea and land routes away from fort. Though we were not allowed to explore so much, as it was really risky.
In the evening we went St Paul church, the most famous and biggest church over there. We also get some time to visit nadia caves near jhalandhar beach, which has amazing sandstone linings.
Must visit once for everyone.
