Diveagar -harihareshwar visit

We visited Diveagar-Harihareshwar last week. We started from Pune(Bavdhan) and took the Mulshi-Tamhini road. The road is not so good but the scenery is fantastic, specially in the rainy season. The Tamhini ghat stretch is one you should travel once in a rainy day. The whole ghat is covered in fog and you just can’t see 10 feet in front of you. There are numerous waterfalls on the way. The road is not good upto the ghat but in the ghat and while you descent is it good.

We stayed in Diveagar at the ANANDYATRI Lodge. It is a simple lodge where you get the bare necessities. It is clean and covered with a plantation of coconut and beetel(supari). They charge you Rs.600/-per room which is affordable. They serve only veg food now as it is offseason. For good food you can visit the SUVARNAGANESH KHANAVAL which is a 10-15 minutes walk from the lodge. Here the food is very tast tasty and they serve you with Veg/Non-Veg/Fish Thali. The fish thali is great. It is a konkani homely food they serve. Cost you Rs.150/- for fish, Rs.100/- for chicken and Rs.70/- for veg thali.

The Diveagar beach is good and even though it was rainy season, we could enjoy ourselves in the water.

We went to Harihareshwar from Divegar. Now I must tell you the road from Diveagar to Shrivardhan on the way to Harihareshwar is one of the worst I had even been to. BUT on the other hand, the view on this road is SIMPLY OUT OF THIS WORLD. You travel all the way by the side of the sea and you can bet you can have some amazing photographs from this road. There are some really good and clean beaches on the way which are virgin beaches. BUT the road is very small and awful with bumpy ride all the way.

In harihareshwar, we stayed at the MTDC lodge which is by the sea. The Konkani Huts are really good having A/C a good space and clean. But the hotel canteen is not one can recommend to. Instead you can go to the small hotels/khanavals near the temple. I can recommend you the NANDANVAN Khanaval, which is just a small hut size but the food is good there. Harihareshwar Resort by the temple is good in cleanliness, but the food is not so great. The harihareshwar beach is not good for swimming, temple is good for seeing.
