Chick Flick

Well what can I say. First, I disagree with the reviews, I was totally disappointed in this movie. When I rented it, I thought it would be a fun, wacky, female film. I love Sandra Bullock, but what I discovered was it was a weird, twisted, doesn’t make sense sort of artsy file. I don’t know about you, but I wanted comedy and I did not get it in this film. In fact a lot of things weren’t really explained except the mother was this horrible woman that married a man she didn’t love because the man she really loved died. Now why did she marry this man if she didn’t love him? Why would this man put up with her and the crap she put on the kids? I don’t know. Watching this film really aggrevated me and I just thought the mother was super-immature. I didn’t find any pleasure in it and any funny parts where the parts the advertisements showed giving you a totally different impression about the film. Now don’t get me wrong, I like chick movies but this one was beyond me.

I would not recommend this movie to a friend, I would only recommend this movie, if you like long drawn out silly conversations, and petty wars. If this is your idea of how families should be, you need help. If I was Sandra Bullock I would have nothing to do with this twisted mother figure and be nice to her father. In fact I still can’t understand why the husband is with the woman. She never shows any emotion or touches him in any way. Sure near the end she realizes how horrible she’s been, but is it enough to make up for her actions throughout his life. I don’t think so. But hey rent it and draw your own conclusion, obviously the other reviews thought it was great, perhaps we have different opinions of movies.
