Good wholesome fun!

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this movie. For some reason it has a bad reputation. A friend of mine saw this DVD on my shelf said it sucked. I asked her if she’d seen it and she said no, but she heard that it was bad and flopped in India when it came out.

Well people I’m here to tell you what I told her...this movie doesn’t suck!

The main characters are Inder (Akshaye Khanna) and Pallavi (Jyothika Sadhana). The story isn’t very original, it’s just a love story with the girl’s family getting in the way.

There are many nice aspects to the movie: her family aren’t bad people they’re just overly protective and conservative and clueless about her feelings. But when her brothers go too far Inder and his friends come up with a plan to give as good as they get. Poor Pallavi is caught up in the middle - she tries to please everyone because she’s such a sweet person (and never asks for credit or appreciation), but things just keep getting worse. All of this is done through many funny scenes and a few moving scenes.

By the time we get to the (very predictable) happy ending you end up feeling satisfied because Pallavi deserves it, and you had so many good laughs along the way. Hey if the acting and dialogue are good enough I don’t care if a movie isn’t original. It’s like watching one of your favorite movies again...you already know every line and plot twist but you still have a good time.

Some of my favorite things about this movie:

The song ’’Bol Sajni’’...this is the coolest video/song visualization I have ever seen in a hindi movie. These 3-4 minutes alone made the whole movie worth watching for me.

The series when Inder and his buddies meet Pallavi’s brothers...each one teaches them a lesson and each one is harsher than the last!

Pallavi’s middle brother comes around with his friends, they look like a gang of thugs. Menacing voice: ’’Who’s Inder??’’ Inder and his friend both say ’’me’’...they don’t know what it’s all about but his friend is willing to lie and take a beating for him.
