Good books

This was my first Stephen King book, so I wasn’t familiar with his style of writing. But after reading this book Stephen King has become one of my favourite writers.

This book of Stephen’s is about 2 women, one is Vera Donovan an affluent and arrogant lady and other one is her housemaid Dolores Claiborne. It’s about how they helped out each other during their hard times and found comfort in each other’s company. Though they were poles apart in terms of wealth and status, they had something in common; they both killed their husband.

The story begins with Dolores Claiborne being interrogated, for the murder of Vera Donovan. She is all set to prove that she didn’t do it. Then she starts with story of her life, unfolding some of her deepest secrets and in the process confessing that she killed her husband 30 years ago.

The narration by Dolores Claiborne makes it more appealing.
