I took a Dolphin sim card about 2 months back. It has following good & bad things.... * Good Things
It is cheapest mobile service available in todays date.
The customer care service is hopeless.(What else we should except from MTNL?)
sms is only 50. paise for local, 1 rs. for national & 2.50 for international.
It has 4-5 different plans, out of which Plan-C is very useful. It has 40. paise cell to cell in area.
you can view the usage on net... they say so ...but not yet started.
For any assistence you can go to nearest MTNL exchange.... that will be useless ...because they do not know anything. They will give you the phone numbers of so called concern person which may help you.
If you take up BSNL in roming, there is no air time applicable....only if you switch over to BSNL.
In mumbai city the network is very strong....rest every were you may get the network....pathetic !!!
Till today there are no late fees applicable for late payment of bill. :-) great !
It takes hardly 1-2 mins waiting for Help line.( not 13 - 15 mins. like Orange.).... but the people seatting on help lines are hopelessly helpless !! They just talk sweetly but can not do anything.
you can send sms free to any Dolphin mobile from MTNL web site... if you have dial-up connection. Not from broadband.
Rest all features are as same as any other service provider..... if so.... why not give money to Indian Goverment than to give to any other Multinational company ?
Bad Things
In New Mumbai area & in Thane area, the coverage is very weak. cell goes out of range if you go little dipper in the building.
If you want to pay the bill in cash you will have to stand in Q. at exchange.
web site is not so wel developed as other service providers.
For most of the calls, you will have to call that person atlease twice because of call drops.
