As a celebration for the end of summer camp, our son asked for Domino’s Pizza for supper. We hadn’t been to a Domino’s in several years-our memory was of a not very clean establishment with soggy crust. Since we now live in another area, we decided to give it a try.
It was a Friday night-the busiest for Pizza take out in our area. We called in the order and were surprised to be told to come in 15 minutes. (We don’t live close enough for delivery). We arrived at the shop 15 minutes later and there were our pizzas being boxed. Good so far! The small shop was clean and well organized. We had ordered two pizzas and an order of Cinnastix.(these are breadsticks made of pizza dough-they come with either a sweet or a savory seasoning) The Young man at the counter informed us that with the Cinnastix-the second pizza was free! Things are getting better by the minute!
The Pizzas were the Cheeseburger Special (bacon, hamburg and cheese) and a Veggie special. Both were regular crust. The crusts were light and not greasy as I had remembered. The guys declared the meat pizza to be great. I Found the veggie to be good as well with onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and olives.
My husband and son ate the Cinnastix as dessert. They were a box of about a dozen sprinkled amply with a cinnamon sugar mix and served with two packets of icing. Too sweet for my taste but they loved it!
Pizzas come in three sizes ranging from 8-14 inches. Domino’s has a limited selection of choices for toppings but there are always special combos. There three choices for crust thickness. The thin is very thin and when we ordered it in the past, we found it too thin for us-almost cardboardlike. We find the regular and thick crust much better. So although Domino’s Pizza is just average. It is reasonably priced, family friendly and quick. And sometimes that enough!
