Disclaimer: This review is in general about the order I placed and it could be one off case as well. But I genuinely felt the quality of service and even the pizza has fallen down. It could also be because Domino’s is the only major option for us in Panaji, Goa. Smoking Joe being an alternative.
Placing order - website: On a Friday morning, I get this sms of buy 1 get 1 free offer (one of those regular offers they run). Since my daughter loves pizza and it was long time we didn’t order, I thought of going for it.
At around 11:30 AM, I started checking on their website for a combination which I can order. (I must also say here that their website is also something I don’t like and I find it not very user friendly). I selected my choices and applied the coupon and it kept saying invalid and gave a general message and I was not able to understand what is going wrong. After couple of trials it said, sorry coupon expired, try after 10mins. I did after some more time with different pizzas and this time it did and then the order went through properly.
It also said pay via PayTm and get some 30% cashback/off - I am yet to see any cashback.
Delivery: Now comes the twist. After some time of placing order, I got a call from a Domino’s representative. English was pathetic, I was finding it difficult to converse with him. He said, they don’t deliver to my address. He just assumed by the name of the building(which in fact I had mentioned in the address as "Next to") and said they don’t deliver in that area. My area was in fact different. After a lot of discussion he said, he would deliver to a point, which is actually ahead of my home and I was trying to explain him this but he would not understand, he just kept saying, sorry we don’t deliver to that place and I should pick it up from their store.
When I asked him, I need to speak to his Supervisor or boss, he said he only is the boss - that was hilarious! and then he switched to Hindi and tried explaining same again. Finally we agreed on a point where the pizza delivery boy would come and then I pick it up from him.
The delivery happened almost after 45 mins and that too this crook who I spoke to earlier on phone sent the guy to a wrong place and then I had to co-ordinate with him to finally collect my order - it was a tiring exercise.
Pizza Quality: I ordered two pizzas: Peppy Paneer and Chicken Golden Delight and I must say the quality is degrading of these pizzas. I had to look minutely to find the paneer pieces while the story of chicken pieces on the non veg pizza too was not great. We had to convince our minds that this is Domino’s pizza that we are eating!
I am unhappy! Not worth the amount that we spend.
